Odendaal (Odie) partners with philanthropic and mission-driven organizations to transform complex ideas, research, and impact into meaningful learning experiences and compelling stories. At The Convive Collective, he brings together storytelling, strategy, and creative facilitation to design engaging learning journeys, develop thoughtful communications, and create content that inspires reflection, connection, and action.

Beginning his career as a filmmaker, Odie worked alongside nonprofits and philanthropic organizations to tell human-centered stories about social change initiatives around the world. Over time, his practice evolved into designing learning experiences that equip un- and underemployed youth with skills, confidence, and pathways to economic opportunity. Today, he works across communications consulting, learning experience design, and creative production, helping organizations communicate clearly, learn intentionally, and engage audiences more deeply.

For more than a decade, Odie has collaborated with organizations across philanthropy, education, and social innovation. His work has spanned early childhood development in India and Nigeria, empathy development initiatives in the United States, violence prevention programs across Africa, and youth development efforts in South Africa. He also spent four years in a nonprofit leadership role, giving him firsthand insight into the opportunities and complexities philanthropic organizations navigate internally and externally.
